NEW: Soap and Glory, Sugar Crush & Up-Toned Girl | Review 2018

Sugar Crush Body Buttercream // Up-Toned Girl Body Lotion // Sugar Crush Body Wash

Soap and Glory are probably one of my most favourite brands to use when it comes to skincare. Throughout the years of posting on my blog, I have made it known how much I love it and that love is still very strong, even now. I needed some new skincare because I had somehow used all my products from Christmas. Venturing out to boots was definitely what I needed as I purchased my all time favourite scent from Soap and Glory 'Sugar Crush' and decided it was time to finally try something new of their ever-growing collection.

Up-Toned Girl Body Lotion - I'm very sheltered when it comes to trying new things because well, my skin is easily irritable and knowing what works well is easier than branching out. I decided to try this as my mum raves about it. After treating her to several products for Christmas and her birthday, I decided to pluck up my pride and try it. It definitely did not disappoint.
This lotion is my most go-to product whenever I get out the bath/shower and it smells incredible. Not only does it nurse my skin into feeling toned and looking radiant, but it also leaves my skin feeling so soft and I love it. Before using this, it was a skeptical debate because I have eczema on my arms and the wrong product can send it from 0-100 in a matter of seconds, however, 'Up-toned girl' did the opposite and since noticed a HUGE difference when it comes to how intact my skin actually is. Very impressed and I'll definitely keep this in my skincare routine.

Sugar Crush Body Buttercream & Body Wash - If you have read any of my previous posts that feature on my blog then you'll know how much the Sugar Crush range has me so enticed. I'm obsessed and each time I review this, my opinion never changes. What I will say is if you want to smell like a sweetie then use these products. I swear by them as they have nursed my skin back to health from when it was all dry and clogged (ew!) leaving a lovely glow afterward. Try it at least once in your routine and you'll notice a drastic change within your skin.

Birchbox Wishlist | 2018

The last time I was crazy for birchbox was probably back in 2016/17. I had 3 boxes on subscription before things got tough in this thing we call life. Although recently, I've been browsing the website and wanted to share some items that have made it to my wishlist!

Skin and Hair-care:

Amie Naturally Kind: Morning Clear Purifying Facial Wash - I swear by this facial wash. If you have dry skin like myself, it's the best thing for it. The scrub itself is so delicate on the face, it also brings all the hidden impurities and dead skin cells to the surface. After use, it leaves your skin feeling and looking so radiant and soft. I can't wait to re-order this and try it out again after a year away from it. My skin definitely needs some TLC right now!

Bioré: baking soda pore cleanser - I'm familiar with the nose strips from Boots, but I didn't know this was a thing! Especially with baking soda. I'm all for trying new things on my skin, especially because each day is never the same. My pores are quite bad at the moment so this could be the ideal thing my skin needs to bounce back to life.

Benefit 'The Pore-fessional' - Again, another pore cleanser but I am willing to try anything to radiate my skin and make it look less zombie-like. As a 23-year-old, some days it's like my skin is resembling someone in their 40s with how rough and moggy I look/feel. One thing I want to achieve this year is clearing my skin and looking after it a lot better.

Amie Naturally Kind: Gently Cleansing Micellar Water - My favourite type of products are those that are naturally blended. I've used Micellar water before by a different brand and didn't really get along with it as it completely dried my skin right up! I wanted to give this a whirl to see if it lived up to the facial wash & I'm praying it does. Won't lie, I'm rather excited.

Bioré: Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser - This is similar to the one above & I'm all for the deep pore dig ups! I like being able to see what my skin hides from me, as weird as that sounds I just find it highly fascinating. After hearing great things about this cleanser, it's made me want to try it to see if its compatible with my skin!

Beauty Protector: Protect and Detangle - My hair LOVES this protect and detangling spray. I kid you not, it made my hair feel sensational. You know when the woman on the Herbal Essences advert screams 'yes'? well this my friends will make you do the same but louder. It helped nourish my hair back to health as I do dye my hair every other month and it just lost all life within it. Extremely pumped to use it again! I didn't even realise there was a bigger version on the website, so this has made me exceptionally happy.

Beauty:

Clinique: High Impact Mascara - After reading some reviews, speaking to people within shops who work for Clinique and more or less watching some Youtubers comment on it, I decided to follow the pack and put this within my list of things to try. I need a new mascara as my makeup collection is rather small and repetitive. Clinique as a brand as amazing so the mascara definitely has some shoes to fill that's for sure!

Benefit High Brow Glow Pencil - Let's be honest, I don't really know how to use this but trying new products is on my list of things to do. If you have any recommendations on how to apply this, please let me know. Other than that, I'm looking forward to my first brow Benefit makeup experience!

Benefit 'They're real' Tinted Lash Primer - Youtubers & bloggers have made me do it... ever heard that phrase? It's quite popular. I've seen some of my favourite people use this and I also used it for my Graduation Ball back in 2016 and adored it that much I've re-discovered it to try again. Pumped!

Benefit 'Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow' Foundation - I haven't ever used a foundation that wasn't by Rimmel London. Definitely stayed within my comfort zone but I figured, what better way than to rip the band-aid right off? Benefit have won me over for the majority of this post & I can't wait to order, try and review this foundation. I'll be using the shade 'Ivory' as I'm quite pale due to England being so dull, it's hard to tan!

Benefit 'They're real' Double The Lip - Give me a dark lip and I'll love you forever. I don't know why but I prefer darker shades to lighter ones? Although this one comes in a range of colours, the ones I'm wanting to try are, 'Nude Scandal' & 'Juicy Berry' as they seem quite sophisticated colours.

Benefit Stay Don't Stray Concealer - My dark circles have meetings on how they want to discolour my face and make me look old, not joking. I discovered concealer in my final year of university when I thought it was funny to cake my face in it drunk... don't ask because I'm stumped too haha. Anyways, like foundation, I've only ever used Rimmel London concealer as it's my safety blanket and I need to woman up and try new things! I'll also get this in the shade Ivory to make me look more awake for the job that is slowly draining me.

Pixi H2o Skin Tint - This brand is the most talked about in recent months. Loads of people I watch on Youtube rave about it. I'm guessing the skin tint is a primer to wear underneath foundation if it isn't then oops ha, if it helps me look half decent then why not try it!

Pixi 'Hello Glow' Set - By far one of the prettiest sets I ever did see. Most definitely fell in love when seeing this and instantly added it to my wishlist (& my basket) because it looks so flawless. I have no idea what to expect with this trio but I am looking forward to trying them out.

Pixi by Petra Flawless and Poreless Primer - Must be craving primers or something! Although a primer that unclogs your pores sounds amazzzzing. This has to be the one product I am looking forward to trying the most 2 in 1, can't go wrong there at all!

Laura Mercier Oil-Free Foundation Primer - Mind that, foundations don't really make my skin oily just somewhat spotty after a few days. I've read upon Laura Mercier products and they seem rather good to use. Since this is oil-free, I'm intrigued to see how my skin reacts to its formula.

Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder - Never used a brightening powder and it's making me anxious thinking about it haha! But going in with an open mind, hopefully, I use it correctly. If anyone has any tips, feel free to help ya girl out as I'm no makeup expert at all (as you can probably tell).

Laura Mercier Lip Glacé - Lipglosses are my second favourite lip products to wear, so when I discovered this red shimmery gloss from Laura Mercier I felt the ultimate feels of a kid in a sweet shop. But admiring the lipgloss, It more or less jumped straight into my wish list.

Strawberry Shower Gel | The Body Shop Review

The Body Shop is one of my favourite shops, ever. Recently I was in here with my boyfriends mum when we saw the Strawberry shower gel. The best products for me personally, is the strawberry range, it smells so nice & well, who doesn't want to smell like a juicy strawberry?
I have never used this product before, hence the title... so let's get reviewing. Although, reviewing things isn't my strongest point, oh well, here goes.

Anything fruity, chocolatey or something that just signifies freshness is what has my vote. I'm easy to buy for when it comes to shower/bath toiletries, most of the time. Usually, I just use what I'm used to which is Soap and Glory but it's nice to branch out your comfort zone here and there to find what works for your skin type. Pushing the scent to the side, what's in the products is also a high factor as having skin that is more temperamental than you on a monthly period, is hard to keep up with occasionally. I wish that was a joke but unfortunately, it's the truth. I make sure the ingredients are suitable for my skin as it's important to know whats flowing over your body... or is it just me? ha, anyways. It is weird, yes, BUT if it's going to help nourish and aid your skin helping it look great then why not check on these types of things? :) Soap-free products, like this shower gel, are like heaven for my skin. Keeping it as PG as I can without sounding like a creep, if my skin could you know, scream with pure joy... it would! hahaha.

A few questions to answer:

Is it tested on animals?
No. I know most products for different brands are, which is sad really and these days its unavoidable to get products without them being tested in that manner, but the body shop are strict on what they test their products on, which makes my love for them a lot stronger. Visit TheBodyshop.com to read their "Against animal testing" campaign page :)

Does it aid your skin?
Yes. Well, it does with mine... it has, in fact, helped my skin stay clear and soft every time I use it, accompanied by my moisturiser (any moisturiser is ideal). It cleanses the skin leaving it feeling so so soft! I like how it's soap-free as soap does irritate my skin if used too much, I found this out the hard way and have never looked back since!

Would I recommend this product?
Of course. I would recommend anyone looking for a skincare product to go to The Body Shop. They have a range of products that are good for all different skin types. I have dry skin & eczema so it's hard to find a good product which I am not used to that will aid my skin, but since using this product there have been fewer irritations.

Is this post sponsored?
I wish... but no it's not :)

Since using this shower gel, I have noticed a HUGE difference in my skin. It's been a lot more manageable and the bumps I had on my arms are more or less fading. It's helped my eczema as well, which I am so pleased about as most products help it then all hell breaks loose, but this time around that problem hasn't occurred just yet *touch wood*. I'd like to try a few more scented body butter/gels from The Body Shop in the near future. If you have any to recommend feel free to leave me a comment below :)

December Favourites | 2015

I genuinely thought I would get potentially better at posting on here, but turns out I haven't at all. Sorry for the delay, "better late than never", right? ;-) I love writing long favourites like this, long but fun to write!

My favourite thing about December, was finding this quote. It set my mood for the month and made me so much more excited for 2016. This speaks to me in so many ways, because 2015 was indeed one of the worst years I've experienced and this post gave me so much hope to remain focused on the important things and set goals to achieve! Safe to say, I'm getting there, I hope ;)

One thing that annoys me more is rough feeling feet! It actually makes my stomach turn. Throughout December I had to use this a lot as my feet were so dry and icky... I've not looked back since. Heel Genius, is by far one of the BEST foot creams I've used. If you have dry feet/skin do use this, it sends your feet so soft and removes dead skin and bumps (you'll know what I'm on about, if you walk a lot like I do) I highly recommend it :)

So for Christmas, My brother's girlfriend bought me a Lush gift set and this shower gel was in it. I won't lie it is amazing BUT I wouldn't rate it all that much, as the smell kind of gives me a bit of a dizzy spell, however.. It does leave my skin remarkably soft! I'd love to try other Lush shower gels within the near future, for sure :)

I say this a lot in most of my posts, I suffer from having VERY dry skin. Which for me, sucks really bad. Simple face wash, has been my saviour all throughout December and has actually cleared my skin from dirt and blackheads and unclogged my pores. I am OBSESSED! Definitely need to purchase some more as it's my go-to facial wash. I also picked up the Mitchum roll on deodorant, and it smells like baby powder. Is that weird? I love the smell of it ha, and it stops you sweating and being smelly better than most products If I'm honest. I also have many people tell me I smell like baby powder when I wear it, makes me laugh every time ha!! If you want a new facial wash or deodorant  then check these out! You won't regret it!

My mum was teasing me about a Christmas present and she found these. I think they're replica's and tbh they are AMAZING. Unfortunately I don't actually have them...yet. BUT my mum is still on the hunt for me. She loves to tease me about shoes aha. I definitely fell inlove with these because of the heel, I'm not a feel lover but these... WOW. It doesn't matter to me if they are 'real' or not, I was raised to appreciate what I had and I most certainly do! It's not about the price tag, or the brand, it's all about comfort for me :P

Throughout December Starbucks was my go-to as it was super cold! My favourite christmas drink by far was the Honey and Almond hot chocolate, like O M G. If you've not tried it, In December, check it out! I'm already excited again haha.

Whilst being at university, Lincoln opens their own christmas market. IT IS AMAZING and I love going to it. In december I went with some friends and we went on the Ferris Wheel. Safe to say I was SO scared... :( and my housemate kept spinning it which made me more scared. The weather was such a let down though, as it was blistering cold & rainy! But that didn't stop us. These are literally the only two photo's I managed to capture & my friend bought £10 worth of sweet, such a funny memory :')

After a morning appointment at the hospital, me and my housemate managed to capture some pretty amazing photo's of the Lincoln Brayford. This was probably half 9 in the morning if not earlier and it was unbelievably beautiful :)

Who doesn't love Ice-skating? I DO! if you read my posts, you'll know that I adore Ice-hockey. Myself, Andrew and Alex all went ice-skating and it was amazing, none of us fell and it was such a good way to have a laugh before leaving for Christmas Break! Really wish it was still here, as its cold enough..ha.

I finally get to announce that I'm going to be an aunty for the first time. This is my little nephew at 25weeks and 2 days! :) Definitely one of my favourite moments of December and I'm so excited for him to be here!! ahh just look at how little he is :)) so cute!

So my step-dad proposed (again) to my mum on Christmas eve and it was the cutest but funniest thing I have ever witnessed, I was most definitely crying with laughter! Don't ask about the outfit because I really can't explain why he's dressed like that... ha.

Christmas presents from my brother! :)

The last lot of photo's were from when I went home from University for Christmas. I was re-united with my little princess pepsi (black cat) and my big ol' fluffy ginger man, sisco. They BOTH wouldn't leave my side lol and they cuddled me for hours!
I also included a few photo's from christmas day, It was all about family for me, and my cats.. I got some AMAZING presents and I'm extremely thankful to have such great family to spoil me rotten! Lucky to say the least. Throughout the holidays I drank a lot of wine and ate a lot of junk! No shame at all.

I also dyed my hair (photo above) and it looks like I have highlights. I am planning on going a brown/blonde colour this year, as after all my natural hair colour is intact Blonde!
(the colour is mystic purple and you can purchase it from boots for £4/5 :)

Hope you enjoyed this post <3

November Favourites | 2015

It's that time of month again, where sharing my favourites things rises to the surface. Compared to last month, I have had my eye on music as November for me, was a good time for everyone to release some incredible tunes!

When it comes to moisturisers I am very picky with what goes near my skin on a daily basis. Introducing this Soap and Glory product to my skin a few months ago, was really amazing for my skin. Back in Summer, when we did get sunshine, I had to put a fair amount on due to my skin reacting to the sun (getting sunburn/tan) and it just made my skin so much more softer, smelt amazing & kept my skin healthy. As we are now in Winter, I started using it again recently as in colder months, my skin tends to get SO dry, but applying this body butter-cream has made stopped my skin getting dry and all sand-papery.

I have also got back into using this delightful body wash. It's the same scent as my moisturiser as I just can't get enough of it, apparently. Whilst in the bath or shower, I use this because sometimes the water sends my skin all dry and gross, however, the body wash has also stopped my skin being so dry & after use, my skin feels incredibly soft, as it also moisturises the skin, leaving it sooooooo soft!

During the Winter months, it's hard to keep my lips from cracking and being chapped. A few months ago, when I had the flu, I came across the Nivea Fruity Lip Shine (Watermelon) and it comforts my lips and keeps them smooth, crack-free and smells A-M-A-Z-I-N-G :) Out of the majority of lip products I have used in the past, I believe that this one is definitely my favourite, especially in Winter. I couldn't find the watermelon one on the Boots website, so I've linked a similar one above.

I've had this small moisturiser given to me as something to take to University in my First year, however, I just thought it was a tester of some kind and didn't think to look more into it. Sea kelp moisturiser is one of my all time favourite body creams, due to how soft it keeps my hands, my face etc. I don't use it all the time, but now I've found their website, I shall be purchasing the Sea Kelp 300ml bottle (linked above) to last me through the winter months. It practically eats up dry skin, which for me, is amazing!!

My lush facemask has undoubtedly made it to my favourites again, as I just can't get enough of it. It has appeared a lot on my blog recently, so I'll keep this to a minimum, BUY SOME OF IT, and just watch your skin improve after the first few times of wearing it. My skin is a lot more glowing and soft because of it. One of my all time favourites from Lush, did I mention.. it smells INCREDIBLE?!

Moving on to some random favourites, I have been loving SO MUCH music this month! Like, the charts have been full with great songs and albums on spotify.. I'm just IN LOVE for sure.

Can we all just take a moment and appreciate the outstanding comeback of Justin Bieber... I have ALWAYS loved his music, like since he first appeared with his first album. This album is one of my all time favourites as every song, is just, flawless and relatable. I love songs I can relate to, like, Justin has nailed the bud if you ask me. My favourite song(s) off his new album are 'Love yourself' & 'I'll show you', these songs just speak a thousand words and just put into lyrical form, everything I want to tell people. It's amazing & I couldn't be happier for his success. You can find his new Album here: Justin Bieber | Purpose

Hello... it's me..
Now if you haven't heard this AMAZING song by Adele, you really are missing out. The first day it was released me and my housemate were instantly hooked. I'm glad she's back with new music, it's been way too long!! Her song, 'Hello' for me, is something I can relate to with my past of having a hard time. If anything it helps me look back on this year as a whole and remain thankful for the journey I've taken. So a BIG thank you to this lovely lady for making an amazing appearance with her music :P You can find her album here: Adele | 25

Another album I have had on repeat throughout the month is Selena Gomez - Revival. I'm not really a big fan for her music, but her new album gives the title justice. I am IN LOVE with her voice throughout the album, especially in her two songs 'Same Old Love' & 'Sober'. You can find her new album here: Selena Gomez | Revival

That's all I have been loving throughout November, what have you been loving? I'd love to check out some recommendations :)
