Coming Back to Blogging!

Well, it's certainly been a while since I sat at my laptop and came on here to do what I love. I needed to leave this platform at a standstill around New year and have some time away to process what's going on in my personal life and to you know, sort myself out properly. I've not posted anything in 4 months? well, anything considered 'proper' since I was rushed into surgery last October. It's been a Godsend to have a break to just unwind and to have that time to focus on myself for a while.

Another reason I took this break was so I could decide what content was going to be published on here. My thoughts clouded my goals for this blog, immediately jumping to the worst about my content which affected my creativity to the point all my enjoyment in blogging had faded as I was trying to be perfect, following trends and what everyone else is doing. So it got me thinking... I'm not going to keep worrying about what my 'Niche' is as I will post about anything and everything from Fashion, Beauty, Lifestyle, Travel, Fitness and so on, more so to suit my desire to have my platform as an escape from what I HAVE TO be writing about, review, wear etc.
My blog was created more or less to be different, to show my personality. Even though there are some good points, I feel like I began to sink so I stopped posting.

The vision I have for this space to call my own is what I want to be fun and more relaxed. I often found myself comparing my blog to other peoples and it's a crap feeling. I don't have a theme yet, I used to but couldn't get my comments on it working. I don't have hundreds of followers or readers because I've been so out of touch with being on here recently, it's not really attracted anyone. I don't have the most high-end photo's or camera to take them on and that's ok. I'll work towards all that but for now, getting everything out my head and written down is my first goal.

I hope you enjoy this next step with Just Me, Jaydee.

2018 Blogging Goals

I've been blogging for around 3 years now, on and off. My love/hate relationship with my blog has finally paid off. Suppose you can say it's been hit and miss for the last couple of years. Alongside a full-time job, it's difficult to remain upbeat and excited about your content when all you want to do is sleep and unwind after a long shift. That was my life for the last year and a half and since the back end of last year, it all changed & I had more time to post the content that inspired me to write.

 * Property of Jaydee Kelly *

Blogging is my escape, from everything going on in life. I love being able to sit down at my laptop and put my all into content for this blog. Some posts don't make the final cut but it's nice to look back on, giving myself ideas of where to improve or how I can develop my writing style into something more promising. This blog began in 2015 - it was a distraction from my depression while in the second year at University. Safe to say not much content was produced until my final year studying but even then it suffered.

Lets fast forward to now... Recently my blog has been my fresh start to expressing my love for writing and content I love reading from other people - of course, putting my own spin on things. I love it. Although it's a case of still finding a rhythm for my little platform, it's a nice learning curve.

WHAT MY GOALS FOR MY BLOG ARE...
  • Create exciting content - Recently, I've decided to keep my blog about a bit of everything, under the 'Lifestyle' tab. If you can't use your platform to express yourself and what you have experienced, loved, cooked, made or bought etc. then what can you use it for? The aim of my content is so my audience can get to know me through what I choose to post. From a range of topics; Travel, Beauty items, haircare, film and tv, books, music, food, fitness etc. You name it, It'll make an appearance on here eventually. Heres to an exciting blogging year!!
  • Make a difference - Whether that's working alongside a charity or giving back to those on the streets; I want to strive to make a difference while documenting it all on here. Not for "bragging" material, just because the world needs more love and inspiration than the controversy it's at now.
  • Meet new people - It would be nice to meet other bloggers and share experiences, learn new things and inspire one another to be the best we can be. I'm all for making new friends and meeting new people along a new journey and I'd love to have a few close friends who share the same ambitions as me with blogging and want to see the world.
  • Travel - As someone who has never left the U.K I would love to travel and blog my experiences! It's a promising goal to do something so creative and share the world through my eyes on here.
  • Expanding opportunities; Working alongside NEW & Favourite brands - The feeling of being able to work with a brand that I adore literally gives me goosebumps. For me, my biggest goal is to work alongside The Bodyshop and create some upbeat content on here, vlog an experience of working with them & produce something so exciting. A girl can dream, right?
  • Be a full-time blogger - This is my ultimate dream. I decided to make my blog more lifestyle as it's full of a range of things that I personally love & would like to engage other people in. To know that my content is making someone's day or any advice I post is helping at least one person, will mean the absolute world to me. It's nice knowing there are people out there that support your rambles and like the content you post. Very motivating!

What are your goals for blogging this year?

January Favourites & What I've been up to | 2018

Well, it's certainly been a while since I've featured a monthly favourites post. Thought I'd start my new year off right, by sharing what I have been loving & share a little update on the crazy life I call my own. Most of what I have been loving is from Christmas, just goes to show how the little things in life make the world a happier place.

Victoria Secret Underwear - I guess you can say my Victoria's Secret virginity is long gone. Definitely, the most comfortable pieces I have ever worn, no joke. My boyfriend treated me to some gorgeous underwear at Christmas and let me tell you, he has good taste. I won't show the actual underwear as they're in the washing pile; to be washed. But I can't swear by them enough. Not usually one for this type of brand but since being introduced, I want more.

"You look beautiful today" Home decoration - My mum and stepdad got this for me and my boyfriend for when was moving house so we could add a positive spin to the new flat. Always have loved little pick me ups like this because even after a crap day this lifts me up. Personal opinion; I genuinely think everyone needs a little positive decoration within their home, makes it cosier. My boyfriend and I still need to add things to the walls so this beautiful decoration can have its own little place. Literally obsessed with it, my parents are definitely the cutest!

Batiste Dry Shampoo and Conditioner - I've always loved dry shampoo's to an extent, apart from when my last one tried to damage my hair, oops! However, having a 2 in 1 dry shampoo/conditioner is like the heaven gates opening with that classical music. My hair loves the formula of this little baby, and whenever I'm having an "I can't be bothered to wash my hair" day, I reach for this. I would highly recommend anyone to use it; you can get it here.

Beauty Formulas with activated Charcoal Detox facial wipes - Wouldn't at all surprise me if these have been featured in another favourites post of mine, but it's no biggie as I love them. My skin is very temperamental and each day is never the same. If you've read my posts before you will know that anything charcoal is ultimately going to be a godsend for my skin. That being said, it was a huge success and quite frankly, couldn't be happier. It helps to remove the build-up of oils and other impurities within your skin but it leaves your skin feeling clean, looking fresh and radiant. You can find them here.

"Leave a little sparkle, whenever you go" Home Decoration - If this isn't a motto in life to follow then I don't know what is. Again, my parents got me this sparkly bundle of joy for Christmas and as soon as I laid eyes on it, it made me excited for my new flat. I can't wait to add it to the walls or put it on my makeup stand in the bedroom as it's just so lovely and the quote itself keeps me positive on very hard, anxious days.

" J " Makeup bag My boyfriends family got me this makeup bag and I've been getting so much use out of it, especially when I moved to my mums for 2 weeks until my new place was sorted, taking my makeup to my boyfriend's house at the time was so much easier. It fits all my makeup in it and soon I'll hopefully get round to a what's in my makeup bag blog post :)

Leaf "greek style" ring - If you're from the UK, go to the shop called "Select". It is by far my ultimate favourite clothing store alongside Primark. Recently, I was in there with my boyfriend and I spotted this ring, instantly falling in love with it & girls, as you know that's so easily done. It was on sale too at £2 reduced from £4 or £6 I think, definite bargain! Always getting so much wear from it and one of the best pieces of jewellery that are in my collection.

Wonder candle holder - Yano when you're shopping for Christmas presents & you're not meant to be spending money on yourself but you see something and are like "I know someone who would love that, meeee" no? just me then haha. ANYWAYS, I saw this candle holder and instantly needed it for my new flat. ok, didn't quite need it but you get my gist. It was reduced in a Christmassy sale for £3 and it came with a Black Cherry candle so I was happy dancing all the way to the checkout.

"Golddigga" Just Pink Perfume - This is more or less my go-to perfume every single day. It's a sweet but not over the top kind of scent. When wearing it, I get so many compliments & it's got that addictive smell, I can't really describe it but if you have a perfume or spray that you can't live without then you'll know what I mean. I've had this for a while and when I use it all, it'll be a sad day as I have sooooo much perfume that needs using. A post will follow soon :)

Lonsdale London Sports Bras - If you read my favourites post from 2015 (yes, that long ago) you'll know I got new sports bra's for when I had a personal trainer. They lasted me 3 years? Such amazing quality that I got two more new ones recently. Sports direct have the best sports bra's & they are so comfortable. Lonsdale sports bras for me help keep me supported and "all in" to put it one way, but I can't recommend them enough & they are very affordable. Find them here

Studio London Brush set - I love new brushes, especially when they're super soft and glide across your face so elegantly. Ok, so I may be exaggerating but who cares. I received these a gift for Christmas and have been using them alongside my real techniques brushes ever since. Growing up I was never into doing my makeup, better yet - never knew how to use brushes until YouTube became what it is today. Ever since it's like my little collection is growing ever so slightly & that's fine with me.

Joe Wicks "Lean in 15" Cook Book - I always say that tomorrow will be the day my eating habits change and most of the time it fails. Although this book is my ultimate inspiration to stay motivated and eat clean. IT HAS WORKED but I still haven't cooked a full meal from this book but, I have eaten healthy... ish haha. Nah, I've selected out a few recipes for me and my boyfriend to try and we're beyond excited to stick to a good lifestyle.

WHAT HAVE I BEEN UP TO THROUGHOUT JANUARY?

If you've made it this far, well done for not falling asleep haha. January was such a good month, so many exciting things happened and what better way to share it than on here.

  • I finally moved to Sheffield with my boyfriend and settled into our first flat together. It's been a crazy busy experience and we step on each other's toes which is common first time living together - But I live with my best friend and couldn't be happier. Although he's glued to the PS4 and acts like a manchild when he loses a game hahaha!
  • Started planning posts for my blog - successful so far on top of a full-time job. Although, I haven't posted frequently, however, I have finally found my feet and decided to post content that I like reading / like to see in the blogging world.
  • Failed a driving test - Screw what people say, this is the real world we live in. If you pass the first time, that's fine. If you don't, that's fine too. It's not about who can pass what first time or whatever, it's about how you get back up from being told no or not getting it the first time. Unfortunately, this test occurred twice for me and both times I screwed up. My last test - I was so close but didn't change lanes on a dual carriageway and my certificate went bye bye. But that's ok because I will learn from this and nail it next time.
  • Watched "The Greatest Showman" - Not one for musicals but this film is insane. I plan to do a separate post for this film so I won't give anything away. Just please watch it you will not be disappointed. I took my boyfriend to see it and he hates musicals lol, but he is obsessed with this one & even has the playlist Spotify it's that good.
I also became an adult, signing up for the doctors and dentist instead of making my mum ring up on my behalf haha. Jokes aside, I've loved the first month of January - loved so many things, made new memories and stayed positive/happy along the way :) Even got two new diaries to pencil in any plans I have, keep on track of bills and work. The best way for sure to stay organised.

WHAT DID YOU ENJOY ABOUT JANUARY?

Birchbox Wishlist | 2018

The last time I was crazy for birchbox was probably back in 2016/17. I had 3 boxes on subscription before things got tough in this thing we call life. Although recently, I've been browsing the website and wanted to share some items that have made it to my wishlist!

Skin and Hair-care:

Amie Naturally Kind: Morning Clear Purifying Facial Wash - I swear by this facial wash. If you have dry skin like myself, it's the best thing for it. The scrub itself is so delicate on the face, it also brings all the hidden impurities and dead skin cells to the surface. After use, it leaves your skin feeling and looking so radiant and soft. I can't wait to re-order this and try it out again after a year away from it. My skin definitely needs some TLC right now!

Bioré: baking soda pore cleanser - I'm familiar with the nose strips from Boots, but I didn't know this was a thing! Especially with baking soda. I'm all for trying new things on my skin, especially because each day is never the same. My pores are quite bad at the moment so this could be the ideal thing my skin needs to bounce back to life.

Benefit 'The Pore-fessional' - Again, another pore cleanser but I am willing to try anything to radiate my skin and make it look less zombie-like. As a 23-year-old, some days it's like my skin is resembling someone in their 40s with how rough and moggy I look/feel. One thing I want to achieve this year is clearing my skin and looking after it a lot better.

Amie Naturally Kind: Gently Cleansing Micellar Water - My favourite type of products are those that are naturally blended. I've used Micellar water before by a different brand and didn't really get along with it as it completely dried my skin right up! I wanted to give this a whirl to see if it lived up to the facial wash & I'm praying it does. Won't lie, I'm rather excited.

Bioré: Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser - This is similar to the one above & I'm all for the deep pore dig ups! I like being able to see what my skin hides from me, as weird as that sounds I just find it highly fascinating. After hearing great things about this cleanser, it's made me want to try it to see if its compatible with my skin!

Beauty Protector: Protect and Detangle - My hair LOVES this protect and detangling spray. I kid you not, it made my hair feel sensational. You know when the woman on the Herbal Essences advert screams 'yes'? well this my friends will make you do the same but louder. It helped nourish my hair back to health as I do dye my hair every other month and it just lost all life within it. Extremely pumped to use it again! I didn't even realise there was a bigger version on the website, so this has made me exceptionally happy.

Beauty:

Clinique: High Impact Mascara - After reading some reviews, speaking to people within shops who work for Clinique and more or less watching some Youtubers comment on it, I decided to follow the pack and put this within my list of things to try. I need a new mascara as my makeup collection is rather small and repetitive. Clinique as a brand as amazing so the mascara definitely has some shoes to fill that's for sure!

Benefit High Brow Glow Pencil - Let's be honest, I don't really know how to use this but trying new products is on my list of things to do. If you have any recommendations on how to apply this, please let me know. Other than that, I'm looking forward to my first brow Benefit makeup experience!

Benefit 'They're real' Tinted Lash Primer - Youtubers & bloggers have made me do it... ever heard that phrase? It's quite popular. I've seen some of my favourite people use this and I also used it for my Graduation Ball back in 2016 and adored it that much I've re-discovered it to try again. Pumped!

Benefit 'Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow' Foundation - I haven't ever used a foundation that wasn't by Rimmel London. Definitely stayed within my comfort zone but I figured, what better way than to rip the band-aid right off? Benefit have won me over for the majority of this post & I can't wait to order, try and review this foundation. I'll be using the shade 'Ivory' as I'm quite pale due to England being so dull, it's hard to tan!

Benefit 'They're real' Double The Lip - Give me a dark lip and I'll love you forever. I don't know why but I prefer darker shades to lighter ones? Although this one comes in a range of colours, the ones I'm wanting to try are, 'Nude Scandal' & 'Juicy Berry' as they seem quite sophisticated colours.

Benefit Stay Don't Stray Concealer - My dark circles have meetings on how they want to discolour my face and make me look old, not joking. I discovered concealer in my final year of university when I thought it was funny to cake my face in it drunk... don't ask because I'm stumped too haha. Anyways, like foundation, I've only ever used Rimmel London concealer as it's my safety blanket and I need to woman up and try new things! I'll also get this in the shade Ivory to make me look more awake for the job that is slowly draining me.

Pixi H2o Skin Tint - This brand is the most talked about in recent months. Loads of people I watch on Youtube rave about it. I'm guessing the skin tint is a primer to wear underneath foundation if it isn't then oops ha, if it helps me look half decent then why not try it!

Pixi 'Hello Glow' Set - By far one of the prettiest sets I ever did see. Most definitely fell in love when seeing this and instantly added it to my wishlist (& my basket) because it looks so flawless. I have no idea what to expect with this trio but I am looking forward to trying them out.

Pixi by Petra Flawless and Poreless Primer - Must be craving primers or something! Although a primer that unclogs your pores sounds amazzzzing. This has to be the one product I am looking forward to trying the most 2 in 1, can't go wrong there at all!

Laura Mercier Oil-Free Foundation Primer - Mind that, foundations don't really make my skin oily just somewhat spotty after a few days. I've read upon Laura Mercier products and they seem rather good to use. Since this is oil-free, I'm intrigued to see how my skin reacts to its formula.

Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder - Never used a brightening powder and it's making me anxious thinking about it haha! But going in with an open mind, hopefully, I use it correctly. If anyone has any tips, feel free to help ya girl out as I'm no makeup expert at all (as you can probably tell).

Laura Mercier Lip Glacé - Lipglosses are my second favourite lip products to wear, so when I discovered this red shimmery gloss from Laura Mercier I felt the ultimate feels of a kid in a sweet shop. But admiring the lipgloss, It more or less jumped straight into my wish list.

L'oreal Paris "Read my lips" Review | 2018

Photo cred: Jaydeekelly (me)

I'm a little behind schedule posting this but better late than never, right? Towards the end of last month, I was browsing around the sales in Boots and came across this lip kit. Not an expert by any means but after using this I wanted to share my thoughts, so here we are;

Read my lips when I say this, this lip kit is out of this world. I've always wanted to say that in a blog post, although you have to imagine me saying it haha.

ANYWAYS . . .

When it comes to trying new makeup products it makes me feel weird. After realising that most of my make up is just by one brand, it kind of made me want to branch out and try new things. And, that is what happened, yay!

Let's be honest, L'oreal lipsticks are just astonishing. Beautifully sits on your lip for hours and doesn't come off like most, although I do like to top mine up because why not? I purchased the "Color Riche"  in the shade 630 Beige A Nu lip kit and it's sent me speechless. It represents a nude/beige colour, which I've been loving recently and think it looks very nice and sophisticated when wearing it.

The packaging for the lip kit was shaped like a cracker and was so much fun opening it. At first, it took a while to figure out on how to open it but after 10 minutes of making myself look a fool, I sussed it out and ta-da, like opening a treasure chest. The lip liner is just a regular liner pencil which isn't too shabby, to be honest, but the lipstick casing was O M G, beautiful. Guess you can say, this little birdie is easily pleased. Seriously though, the casing is gorgeous. Nice gold casing with the L'oreal Paris logo. When opened, you twist the bottom like most lipsticks and then the most beautiful colour reveals itself. Ok, I'm making this sound very cringe but I promise, it's worth it. Very pleased with this purchase in the sales, from £10, to £5 and SO WORTH IT.

I am so impressed, to say the least. I wore this lipstick and the lip liner for New Year's Eve and it just looked amazing. And, it felt like my lips were plumped but oh well... I felt good for the first time in weeks.

With a nice shirt, skirt/trousers and a pair of booties, the lipstick will compliment an Au Naturale makeup look or any makeup look for that matter, as it's nice and simple.
I can't recommend this enough, but then I realised that I got this in the after Christmas sale and didn't think it would be in stores. BUT, after doing a little browsing I managed to find the L'oreal Paris lipstick - 630 Beige - in Superdrug for a bargain price £6.99! Click here to have a look! :)

July Favourites | 2017

Hola, everyone!

July for me was a good month. I have a few favourites that I wanted to share so here we go. I discovered a lot of new things, binge-watched television programmes and even achieved some goals, explored and had fun throughout. July was exciting, to say the least.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Theory test - All passed and ready to move onto my driving test. Took a lot of preparation and my advice would be to study for it. It might be 'common sense' but you learn more testing yourself before going in for the real thing.

New job - So throughout July, my new job started a few weeks earlier than planned. It's been an experience that's for sure. Juggling two jobs and a social life does become difficult but what gets me through it is knowing that I'll have enough income coming in before my operation takes place, so it'll be a stress-free two weeks of recovery! :)

Donating blood for the first time - Donating blood has always been something I wanted to do & it finally happened. As a first timer, it took a while to actually get prepared. It took two attempts to actually have my veins cooperate. I've always had an issue with my left arm veins acting up with blood tests so imagine a bigger needle trying to pierce it. Because of it dropping, we moved over to my right arm and SUCCESS... blood was flowing nicely. Although afterwards, I started to become lightheaded even though I had plenty of water & food... IT STILL MANAGES TO GET YOU. So if you're donating blood for the first time, don't try and leave if you feel unwell. This lasted a few days for me but I had annual leave so wasn't too bad. I'm booked in again for the 19th November & I can't wait :) You can sign up here if you're from the UK: NHS Blood Donation

ESSENTIAL FAVOURITES

Soap and glory hand food - my hands get really dry, especially through my job as a carer... there's no avoiding dry hands especially when you have to wear latex gloves (or powder free ones). I am obsessed with soap and glory, that's no secret. If you're new to my blog then check out previous favourites in the popular section and you'll see I'm not joking.
I carry this hand food everywhere I go, it's definitely keeping my hands less dry and icky. Couldn't recommend the stuff enough. You can find it here: Soap & Glory Hand Food

Dulcolax Tablets - I have a funny stomach. It's so temperamental I never know what mood it's going to be in. I guess you can say that about me too, being a Gemini and all ;) ha, jokes aside... if you're having trouble with bloatedness and indigestion, then try these. Take one at night time and it'll work wonders... 1 every 3 days should be enough and it's such a relief afterwards. A safer way than any other laxatives too. £1 from Asda Supermarket, can't go wrong.

Simple Wipes - Kind to skin & Radiance - face wipes can be irritable if you have weird skin. Welcome to my world if you do. I started using Simple after using the face scrub over a year ago and found the wipes cleared my skin. These wipes gave my skin a natural glow and cleared the excess dirt from my skin and OH MY GOODNESS, they're amazing. Do try them if you're looking for something to clear your skin, these help for sure.

Vaseline (cocoa butter) - Ok fine, you got me... I need to look after my lips more as I'm known for scraping the excess skin off when they are overly dry. We all have bad habits & that's one of mine. Recently, after stumbling over this cocoa butter vaseline, it's been my go to lip care and couldn't be more happy with the results. My lips haven't been as dry and this makes me happy, very happy in fact. Even my boyfriend said it smells nice and I guess if he kisses me, that's good right? haha.

MAKE-UP FAVOURITES

Rimmel London - Wake me up concealer - Nothing is more Godly than this product. I kid you not, it's literally saving my bags from imploding on my face. Fact.
I haven't used many concealer's but I more or less swear by this and use it every time I wear make-up without fail. You can find it here: Rimmel - Wake me up concealer

Lasting Finish Kate Lipstick, shade 30 - Every girl has a favourite lipstick. This has been my favourite since second year at University (two years ago... crazy!) I don't wear it very often, only for nights out, date-nights & family gatherings. I like darker shades as they suit more for my make-up looks and skin tone. The title says it all, it's a lasting finish lipstick and stays on for hours. I do sometimes have to reapply but then again that's very normal. You can find it here: Kate Lipstick - shade 30

Velvet Kiss Lip cream, shade Caramel 2 - If you're picky with matte lipsticks/glosses you'll adapt to this one very well. For £2.99 you can't really go wrong. I do wear this quite often and even picked up another one recently as it's amazing. Nude colours with a caramel hint are literally the best to finish off a simple or sophisticated make-up look. I'm not expert but if it works, it works... right? You can find it here: Velvet Kiss Lip Cream

PERFUME FAVOURITES

I don't usually wear perfume very much & if I do, it's always my Taylor Swift one... But recently, pondering through my wardrobe, I came across my "Golddigga Pink" perfume. I've had this since Christmas... I think. So I have no idea where it's from, but I assume it's relatively cheap. IT SMELLS SO GOOD, no joke. I'd highly recommend this if you're into the 'sweet' smells :)

TV FAVOURITES

Night Shift - If you have Netflix, do give this a watch. I love programmes where they focus on different types of medical aspects. With this series revolving around veterans who have served their country, it's quite inspiring and a very interesting storyline. As an ex- film and television student, if a programme has a good storyline & good intense plot, I'm sold.

Suits - It's no secret that I admire the law lifestyle, well the lifestyle television projects it as. (it's more or less how I imagine it to be) Suits is so addictive, very informative and it's got perfect dramatised plots... I AM OBSESSED. A few years ago within second year at Uni, I was very uncertain about watching it, at first I could get into it. Within final year of Uni, it was my hangover cure every other day (student life for you ha). Ever since, it's become apart of my routine especially because season 7 is now out on Netflix #notsponsored. I am loving how Donna is stepping her character up into a more challenging perspective, it's nice to see her in the limelight for once. She is literally a clear representation of my personality... sometimes.

Grey's anatomy - Where do I start? Last summer (2016) I got obsessed and it was unhealthy. Because my hours at work wasn't as hectic, every day becomes a "Greys Day" for me, with a cheeky dominoes on the odd chill day haha. I think the most emotional part of it for me was when George died... Like I couldn't fathom why they did SO LITTLE to save him. It still makes me angry even though they did what they could, it just seemed like they gave up on one of their own so freaking quick. This is how much it actually affected me... if you watch this & you cried, lets be friends.

That's all I have for now & this post has literally taken me a week or so to write haha. Can't wait to share my August Favourites in the next week or so!

Tea Tree Witch Hazel Facial Wash Review | 2017

Hola, everyone!

I have found a new love for writing reviews. Although, I somehow manage to venture onto a new wavelength and totally go off topic. But yeah, I came across this Tea Tree Witch Hazel product through the one and only, Niomi Smart as she partnered with Boots. I saw her talking about it and I thought it looked good so when I was in boots last month, I picked one up. Without realising until I got home... which was a happy moment. Ever since I have been absolutely OBSESSED!

Tea Tree Witch Hazel with Active Charcoal - Daily Detox Facial Wash -
£4.55

When it comes to any form of facial wash, body scrub or moisturiser I really do struggle to find one that is compatible with my skin. As mentioned in several previous posts, I suffer from dry skin and when it's dry it gets irritable which really isn't good. Tea Tree Witch Hazel has actually cared for my skin better than expected. If anything it nursed my skin completely back to health and has never felt so soft. I managed to persuade the boyfriend to try it and even he was amazed, no joke.
What I like most about this product is the active charcoal which gently cleanses and attracts dirt like a 'magnet' as described on the casing. It draws out deep down impurities and excess oil without over-drying the skin or sending it to completely break out.

Step one - Wet hands and face with warm-ish water and apply the product in your hand, preferably your fingertips as it gets really messy. Leave on for about 3-5minutes as it's giving the charcoal chance to work its magic.

Step two - After 3-5minutes has passed, wash off gently with a flannel or your hands, whichever is more doable. I'd recommend the flannel though. Dry your face with a clean towel making sure any excess product comes off.

Step three - Apply any type of moisturiser to your face and let it sink in for about 5 minutes. Leaving it on all morning until your regular make-up routine(s) etc.

Step four - See the results. I mean, from this photo alone you can see how clear my skin looks just from a 10 minute morning cleanse.

I'd recommend using this product 2-3 times a week as it does your skin wonders and gets rid of blackheads and stop spots from forming also. Obviously it will have a different effect on different skin types but still, try it if you're looking for something new to add to your skin care routine. :)

Mark Hill Product Review | 2017

Hola, everyone!

So throughout January, I decided to treat myself to some new hair products as I was graduating the University of Lincoln and wanted my hair to remain somewhat straight throughout the day. I'm pleased that it did to some degree (no pun intended) but the rainy weather started to ruin my sleek look and it didn't help wearing a mortarboard cap... which flattened my little quiff. I've previously used Mark Hill hair products a few years ago, a volumising spray but had little to no knowledge in how to amplify my hair or even tame it at that point. Since then I have got a bit better, so while in boots in January I decided to try out the latest products and try them out. Also had browsed Instagram and came across the Mark Hill Hair Instagram account giving into temptation. And, because the colours of the packaging caught my attention (guilty...)

So yeah, trying this product had me a little nervous as I've obviously only used one product by this brand before but even then I didn't know how to use it. I was one of these people that didn't experiment with their hair, I did it a certain way at uni and that was "my look"... I'm probably not making sense but if you're following what I'm saying then that's a bonus. But yeah, anyways, I tried this product out and was very hyped by the result.

As you can see from the pictures above from my Graduation Day, my hair is somewhat straight. This for me is an achievement on its own as whenever my hair gets straightened it NEVER stays how I style it. So using the Sleek Straight Spray has definitely helped my hair a lot. I didn't actually use the other spray in the photo for my graduation day, but I did afterwards a few days later. I didn't really understand what the UV Shield was going to do, so I gave it a chance and it's kept my hair colour intact (I'm naturally blonde) & demolishing my lighter roots, which makes me really happy!!
Would I recommend these products? erm..... HELL YEAH. Although I was apprehensive about using them, it just shows you that you never know unless you try. Mark Hill, you've done well. Hats off to you, sir. Anyways, that's my review on the product. But I urge you to try these amazing products as you will not be disappointed.

What was in my December 2016 Birchbox?

Aloha, Everyone!

I understand this post is super late, but work got in the way and I have been spending as much time with my family as I could over the December period.. better late than never, right? :) I have thoroughly enjoyed receiving my birchbox subscription but I won't be receiving another one, by choice until February now, just to save up some money for other bills that I'm currently a tad behind on... whoops! I'll link everything pictured below at the bottom of the post also if you wanna check it out!

So if you have followed my posts from last year (love saying that) you'll notice a few birchbox ones. They have become quite popular on my page so I thought although we are on the 11th day of January, I will still introduce the December box as I loved it so freaking much! I haven't yet tried the 'Fierce Flicks' eyeliner yet, so bare with me... it will make an appearance in future blog posts, promise!

I don't normally do my nails so this was a total surprise. I have worn it once over Christmas and I'll be honest, it lasted so long! kept my nails in a good condition afterward too. I'm not one for pink but this 'Just Perfect' shade by Leighton Denny looked amazing! I just wish I had taken a photo, but probably wouldn't have done it any justice what so ever. It's nice for a little gift for someone, or to wear with every day/night time clothing, goes with most outfits!

Everybody raves about benefit and their products, so seeing this little Dew the Hoola in my box got me all excited and tingly. I'm not even joking. I still haven't used it yet, as I don't really know how to and I haven't been wearing make-up recently as my skin has been super dry due to the weather conditions, but I will no doubt include this in a favourites when I do try it out!

If you suffer from blotchy, dry skin and can't get rid of those icky pores with whatever facial scrub you use, then try Amie - Deep Pore Exfoliating Polish. IT IS AMAZING. I'm not just saying it. I have had really icky skin recently and using this made it more clear, less clogged up with dirt and cleared my pores. Use twice weekly alongside any other facial scrub and you'll notice a massive difference. Also, you'll have super soft skin afterward, no joke!

Hair products are essential for me and I was a bit apprehensive trying this Percy and Reed Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Balm. The scent of it is a bit too strong for me, but it leaves your hair feeling so much freer. I've only used it twice as I'm still raving about a hair product from November's box ha, so this one hasn't really been out recently, but it's good to keep your hair smooth and looking fab before and after styling!

Top 10 New Year Resolutions | 2017

Hiya everyone!
Long time no post... Firstly, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! :) I have been quite absent recently over the last two months and I feel like due to being so busy I have neglected my blog, but now I am focused and ready for what this year will be like.  So, I tried this New year's resolution thing last year and the year before that etc. and I have neve really had any serious goals that I wanted to achieve whilst studying at University, so entering this new year I have been going crazy to share these resolutions/goals that I want to achieve this year.

1) Be happy
Over the last two years I have been learning who I am, why I used to feel like I did, why people would leave, Why I was like I was... etc. & I realised that I just wasn't happy. With myself, or what I studied/where I lived and so on. THIS YEAR that changes, for the better. My biggest goal for this year is to be happy. Happy with my body shape, my personality, my interests, my job, academic career, relationships/friendships etc. You get the point. All I want is a good year full of positivity and happiness so I will be making that my top goal for sure!! :)

2) Post on my blog more
I am so guilty of neglecting my blog once or twice... oops. If you check what I've posted in the past, you'll see I didn't really post much last year due to personal issues, but when I did they were super long haha. I want to be posting more content based on lifestyle, health and fitness, beauty, fashion etc. Although I don't really know much about beauty or fashion, I want to collaborate with awesome brands and try new things.
I also want to update my photo quality for this blog and maybe move onto posting video's for a haul to describe what I want to say better... there's just so much but for now, I want to concentrate on my blog and even create a new layout for it to make it cosier.

3) Take 2 whole days a week off Social Media
I have already gone 3 weeks without my Facebook account as I deleted that. Long story short, people were getting extremely annoying by posting rubbish for attention or acting like they're a politician or "facebook famous", like I'm sorry but those types of people are the worst. I removed myself from the website and I couldn't be happier! I feel more at peace without it for sure.
I decided on this resolution to just relax and have more "me time" as it's a good way for the brain to stay healthy without being stunned by a phone/tablet/laptop light. & It helps you sleep better which makes you feel more relaxed and happier the next morning!

4) Graduate University
So I didn't have the best final year at University, I tried my absolute best and my tutors marked me down for whatever their reasoning was, which led into a resit and my University didn't allow me to walk the stage in my September graduation due to my results "not being released" BUT... got released the day after my actual graduation, so my anger towards that was the highest it's been as I felt it was unfair. Which it was, but I'll discuss that at a later date. So that's why I'm graduating on 18th January 2017, but I'm glad I still get to walk across stage and collect my degree paper thingy ha! Happy ending in the long run :)

5) Travel
I've never travelled abroad, so I need to change that as soon as my passport arrives. My family couldn't afford it, but we still went away in summer, which is just as good right? :)

6) Lose Weight
This for me is a personal matter, which I will discuss in the near future within a separate post BUT I just feel like I need to get my health back on track, tone up my body, eat the correct foods and then lose the extra weight that is tied to me. It's not because of the society we live in as I don't let it define me. Like I say it's for more personal reasoning.

7) Pass my driving test & buy a car
Everyone's dream right? I started my lessons at 19, I went to university which revoked the chances of my lessons taking place. It was on/off since 2013 until late 2014 and I just wasn't confident. I began again last year (2016) and now I'm so close to finishing which is UNREAL. I've achieved so much within my driving lessons such as; A relay drive for Children in Need & A two hour drive to Sheffield and back (excluding motorway) which is close to where I live. So happy I had the opportunity to do that :)

8) Read more books
I think it's important to read, no matter what it is. I say that because it helps relax you, gives you some enjoyment in losing yourself in someone else's story and lets you escape real life for a while. Which is great :)

9) Do more activities
My aim with this is to either do Tough Mudder which takes place throughout the UK, take part in The Great Northern run etc. It's keeping active, healthy and in shape whilst achieving something great, raising money for the less fortunate.

10) Get my Mental Health better
It's not been the best over the last few years and It stops me from so so much! This should be at the top of my list but oh well. I just feel as soon as my head is in a better place and I ain't feeling like I do, I'll find my happiness :) That's a big step for this year and I'm excited to see a difference :)

So there are my top 10, I have waaaaaay more but I'll be here all day, writing a very long post. Let me know if you have the same or similar resolutions as I'd love to hear some. :)
