Favourite Christmas Films | December 2016

It's that time of year again when the festivities are piling in and excitement, love and family time occurs. I love Christmas and this year I have tried to spoil my family so so much with my new job and not being on a student budget anymore ha! But what makes Christmas so great is the films that are showing! I have so many favourites, I don't know where to start :)

1) The Grinch (How the Grinch Stole Christmas)

2) Elf

3) Jingle all the way

4) Home Alone 1

5) Home Alone 2

6) Love Actually

7) The Santa Clause

8) The Santa Clause 2

9) The Holiday

10) Christmas with the Kranks

11) Jack Frost

These films have literally been my security blanket at Christmas since I was a little girl and even now, they make an appearance on my TV at Christmas. It's not Christmas until you've watched these!! I definitely have this year and it made me feel so cosy and Christmassy!

What are your favourites? let me know :)

OOTD | November 2016

* This post is not an AD, all opinions are my own. All photo's are my own unless stated otherwise *

So I have a lot of outstanding posts to upload from November, so thought I'd start with this! As I've been ill all week and only had the chance to post now.

I'm not really one to focus on my outfit but on 21st November, I was meeting a friend for some drinks and this outfit has been my go-to recently. It's nothing special but it is really comfy and trendy for the winter months!

Jumper: From boohoo.com - Maria Soft Knit Jumper Dress £20. I've had this jumper since the beginning of the year, and it has been my go to recently with it being baggy on me and really cold outdoors. I chose the black one because it just compliments my figure a lot better which I like and it's super soft! It's still in stock so I'll definitely have to buy some more soon!!

Jeans: From Primark.com - Mid Blue Power Stretch Skinny Jeans £13. I'm so fussy when it comes to jeans so finding these saved me, literally. I got mine in a size 12 and they are so so big on me! I definitely think I need a smaller size, but I like them being a bit baggy around my waist, as weird as that sounds, as having a tight fit would strain my stomach area. A nice colour that goes with anything too!!

Phone case: From Amazon.co.uk - I've actually mentioned this in a favourites from 2015 and I've had it on my phone ever since! It has protected my phone from my mood swings (not even joking) and survived the most deadly of drops. If you're looking for a sturdy phone case, give this company a try!!

That's it for my OOTD, if you have any outfit recommendations then feel free to leave them in the comments! Love, Jaydee xo

What's in my November Birchbox? | 2016

* This post is not an AD, all opinions are my own. All photos are my own unless stated otherwise *

This month's Birchbox was actually a lot more different than last months. I've seen a lot of people complain recently about how they were disappointed that they weren't getting enough in their box or wasn't adapting to their products. I personally thought this box was pretty awesome, yes, there weren't many products but you still get your monies worth. After all, it's not about how much you get, it's about what you get and if you like it... right?

The first product I tried was the Nuxe crème Prodigieuse (RRP £21*)
After a sleepless night, I reached for this. It refreshes your complexion to boost the skin's antioxidant levels, restores hydration and boosts tired skin. Just by applying it to your face and neck in circular motions, you begin to feel more alert and awake, which at 6am in the morning is great! The only downside for me was the scent of it, it became a bit too strong at one point and gave me a headache. I think I may have used too much but it is an amazing product to use!

When it comes to looking after your hair, it can be stressful. A few days ago I washed my hair after feeling crappy that day and reached for the Beauty Protector - Protect and Detangle (RRP £18.50*)
My hair is like mermaid hair on a good day, but it becomes greasy and dry so quickly, which I hate. The bottle smells so frickin' good it's unreal. I just sit there on my bed occasionally and smell it, is that weird...? ha. After washing my hair, I sprayed this in my hair. As it's a leave in conditioner, I was a bit scared. BUT, it has kept my hair from getting greasy, dry and icky. In fact, it has made my hair more vibrant and smell fantastic. As a first impression, I absolutely love this product. It has made my hair so much healthier. I would definitely recommend this to everyone especially those who have dry hair, it is a miracle worker! Thumbs up to Birchbox :)

Hairbrushes can be hard to find, especially ones suited for your hair type. Wet Brush (RRP £11.99*) leaves your hair looking elegant, that's for sure.
Start by brushing your hair from the bottom and work your way up to the top on wet or dry hair, it will make it so nice and soft. I was apprehensive about trying this as my hair falls out all the time whenever I brush it. It even did so when I used this but it hurt less.

One thing I despise about winter is when my lips get split and chapped. I used the Lip Tar (RRP £15*)
Which is a primer for your lips. Cruelty-free also, which is a bonus. However, I haven't reached for this as often as I have with my vaseline as I forgot. When I did use it, it felt great sending my lips so soft. It has actually nourished my lips so much that they aren't that rough compared to last week. I would definitely recommend this lip product if you're looking for something cruelty-free and a product that actually works for dry lips, use this! you won't look back.

Last but not least, Marcelle Golden Glow Illuminator (RRP £25.50*)
I've never used an illuminator before so this was a total risk. After applying it, I noticed a difference straight away. You can wear it on its own or with a foundation. I decided to apply a foundation over it and immediately I saw the glow it gave my skin underneath. I would definitely be purchasing this again, but the bigger version... it's left my skin feeling clear and less rough. I couldn't be more pleased. If you want to try it out then, by all means, do. It is a great cover up especially with tiredness underneath the eyes.

My favourite product out of the box has to be the Beauty Protector leave in conditioner. It has catered my hair nicely and I can't wait to buy the bigger bottle and use it in my everyday routines.

Thanks for reading, see you soon :)

Candle Haul and Favourites | 2016

* This post is not an AD, all opinions are my own. All photo's are my own unless stated otherwise *

Recently I have been loving a range of different candles. If you read my posts last year, you'll know that I love berry scented candles. This year I have branched out and discovered a range of different scents and want to share my favourite ones with you guys. :)

1) Glade - Timeless Joy, Warm Spiced Orange

Autumn is probably one of my favourite seasons of the year, other than Winter. It's that time where all the sweet but warm scents are released to make your house smell amazing. This candle has literally been the one I burn all the time in the evening as it makes my room smell incredible. I have just gone through my first one and have bought another one, as I'm so in love with the scent. It smells like heaven in a candle.. but no, it smells like a really sweet orange but with a warmer, smell that lingers. Before even lighting it, it makes your house/bedroom smell incredible. I'm so upset that it's a limited edition one, as I love it so much but hopefully, I can find something similar in the future.

2) Glade - Honey and Chocolate

Okay, so this scent is a very unusual scent for me to have in a candle variety. But when I was shopping I came across it and instantly loved the scent of it. It smells more of chocolate than honey, but it's a light smell and makes your house smell like a chocolate factory, which I believe to be incredible. I haven't yet lit this candle but I'm so eager to one day this week.

3) George Home - Wild Berry

I don't usually go exploring around Asda for their own brand candles but when I and my best friend went the other day, I came across this one. It's a lot sweeter than the others but smells incredibly warm. Wildberry or frost berry candles are my ultimate favourite, so I chose this one and hopefully it makes my house smell lovely.

4) Tesco - Spiced Berry

My mum actually introduced me to this candle. I kept taking hers and sitting in her living room smelling the candle for like an hour. It's just that good! So I bought my own when I was last in Tesco & as you can see in the photo, I have used it and it smells like an orgasm in a jar, not even kidding. This is probably my all time favourite after the Spiced Orange candle it smells so incredible. As winter is fast approaching, this candle is ideal for any month really but especially around Autumn/Winter.

If you want to try any of the candles above, then check out Asda and Tesco supermarkets before they sell out. My "J" candle, unfortunately, burnt completely weird and I now just keep it for decoration. Hope you enjoyed this post and I hope it's helped to discover some low-budget candles for the colder months ahead. :)

5 ways to improve your life | 2016

Firstly I am no expert nor am I portraying myself to be one, but throughout October I struggled with a lot of things within myself, mentally, physically, financially etc. & It was a draining month hence why I've objected to doing an October Favourites post, as I wasn't loving very much.
If you're open to change then continue reading as this is what worked for me, it may not work for everyone but I'm hopeful that it could impact someone's life at least.

1) Look after yourself
It's very important to look after yourself, starting with you. Paint your nails, dye your hair or spend 3 hours in the bath until you look like a shrivelled prune lol, either way, do something that makes you feel good. I sometimes do my makeup different or position my hair a different way to boost my confidence if I'm having a bad day. Go running or walking for 2 hours a day to clear your mind, create a playlist on your phone of all the best songs you listen to and just lose yourself in it. Eat the correct foods that your body requires but also have a little cheat day to balance it out. I'm not food god, but it's what keeps your body going. Put yourself first and look after YOU.

2) Cut toxic people out of your life
Why am I saying that? Because negativity is a strong and powerful drainer which consumes 99.9% of your energy and quite frankly it's horrible. Having people who are negative and toxic in your life changes the way you look at things and how you choose to live your life. Having a more positive mindset will help you achieve more goals and targets that you set yourself, rather than pushing good things away with a negative approach. Toxic people target the most vulnerable people and take advantage of them being in a low mindset, so making sure you're clear of them types of people is what will make your life more happy and free.

3) Do what makes you happy
Stop trying to please everybody, because you're not here for them. Ever heard of the saying, "You're here for a reason, find your own path" ? well, do exactly that and you can't go wrong. Find something that makes you happy, like blogging, exercising, dancing etc. Anything that makes you feel some sort of release and brings a smile to your face. You only have one life, so live it the way YOU want and make fantastic memories.

4) Be a kind person
Whether it's helping a little old lady over the road or donating spare money to charity. Do something nice for someone else by being a kind person. This world lacks kind hearted people as there is so much hate surrounding it at the moment. So when you wake up be positive within yourself and make someone else smile that day. Even if you say good morning, it will make their entire day. OR better yet, be kind to yourself. Treat yourself to something you've wanted for a long time, take yourself for a lovely chilled out run/walk or surround yourself with good friends and family. It helps, trust me. :)

5) Love who you are
Before anyone else can love you, you need to learn to love yourself. Accept your flaws, your imperfections and embrace them. They don't make you a bad person, they make you unique. Loving who you are is NOT vain, it's appreciating that you're happy with yourself and comfortable in being who you are, especially when around other people. Love your personality, body, mind and creativeness because one day you'll look back and wonder why you didn't.

I hope this helps at least one person. It is a long process but absolutely worth it. These points have helped me take a step back from my life and remember the importance of it. Even if you include at least one into your life, it will make a great difference :)

What's in my October Birchbox? | 2016

* This post is not an AD, all opinions are my own. All photo's are my own unless stated otherwise *

It's taken me a few days to write this as I've been super busy and wanted to try out the products. I've never had a subscription to Birchbox, so when I discovered it I was super excited to receive it and try out products I've never used before. As of right now I'm loving this box of goodies so so much and can't wait for my November box to arrive!
Throughout October, Birchbox had created star sign boxes with different things in for each zodiac sign. I got mine at random because I didn't have my birthday listed so that's why mine says Earth. If my birthday was listed I would have got Air, but I'm super happy with the one I got as the products are simply amazing.

The first product I used was the Doux Me pure spring mist/water (RRP £16*)
You can use this over your makeup which rests really nice on your face. It isn't heavy and it sets your makeup as well as freshens up your face. I've been reaching for this quite a lot as I have dry skin and this spray has given my skin the moisture it was lacking. First impression of this product is that it's amazing for your skin, hydrating your complexion whilst giving your skin the nourishment it needs. I would definitely recommend. I am definitely considering buying a larger bottle from the Birchbox website.

When I saw my full sized make up product in the box I was super excited. It's the LOC x Millie - Ultra gloss lip pencil in Bohemian Rose (RRP £9*)
Yes, this was designed and named by Millie Macintosh. However it not something I'd reach for on a daily basis. It's nice but I like my lipsticks/glosses to feel smoother and nourish my lips. This product didn't necessarily do that but it did look nice on. I'd recommend it to those who like a lighter lip but do apply a base first because it can dry out your lips, unless that was just me..? ha. Would I buy this in the future? I don't know, possibly.

Putting oils on your hair can be tricky, especially if you have frizzy hair like mine. Number 4 - Fluoro5 Elixer Restore and Repair Oil (RRP £18*)
Surely it's not just me who has been sceptical about hair oils? well, this one has done justice for my hair. No word of a lie... it has actually stopped it from getting frizzy (unless the rain catches me or I wake up with bed head..) but OH MY GOODNESS it's amazing. I am totally singing the praises of this brand because in my eyes, it's totally worth the money if it's going to make your hair feel 1000 times better. It's good for dry hair, split ends etc. and literally leaves your hair super soft after every wash. Definitely getting stocked up on this for sure!!

Sleep is becoming a thing for me where I don't get much of it as my body has other plans. So I was really excited to use This works - Deep Sleep Pillow Spray (RRP £16*)
If you're anything like me, using this spray actually helps you sleep for longer. Although I'm not a lavendar lover, I have enjoyed using this spray and the smell that lingers is just out of this world. Does it help you sleep better? oh yes definitely. It has helped my get to sleep so quickly over the last two weeks and I couldn't be any happier. I'm definitely going to introduce my family and friends to this! It's totally a God-send product if you struggle to sleep for long periods of time.

Okay so I haven't got round to using everything in the box. So the Rituals Hammam Body Mud (RRP £14*) & the Triology - Vital moisturising cream (RRP £24.50) have been untouched but I am getting round to using them and I cannot wait. I will most likely feature them in a favourites as I can tell I'm going to love them so very much :)

September Favourites | 2016

After a while of not doing favourites, I've decided it was nice to have a chatty blog post about what I have been enjoying throughout September. I'm hoping to keep up the regular posts, as the next few months are my favourite time of the year!

Body Products

When it comes to Soap and Glory, I fall weak on my knee's. I mean, who doesn't? Their products are out of this world!!! The Sugar Crush Body Buttercream is what I reach for most, whenever I'm in Boots. I think it's the best therapy for dry skin and for me, I suffer badly from dry skin especially in the Autumn and Winter months. It also smells AMAZING! What more do you want?

The next moisturiser I tend to reach for quite often is the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula body lotion. I use it every day if I'm not reaching for my soap and glory set, and it soothes my skin so nicely. As I've previously said, I regularly get dry skin and this product literally nourished my skin back to health. It smoothes marks, such as stretch marks, scars etc. and tones the skin. It has done my skin wonders and looks very healthy every day, which makes me feel great :)

I walk quite a lot, for my job as a Home care assistant I am constantly on my feet and it's started to split my skin. I apply Heel Genius every day, sometimes two times a day, depending on how sore they are. I have recently pulled off a lot of dead skin (ew!) off also and If I'm honest, this cream has allowed my feet to breathe and is slowly nourishing them back to health. As we speak, I am currently researching some new remedies to help the soreness of my feet, so if you have any suggestions, please comment some below :)

When it comes to deodorant I am very, very picky. I have to try new stuff all the time because having the same brand constantly, breaks my underarm skin and it's very painful. Recently I have been loving, Garnier Mineral UltraDry 48H deodorant and it's made my skin softer than usual and smelt fantastic! I'd highly recommend it. It's the one deodorant I have been able to stick with all Summer into the Autumnal season and It's great. I can't see myself changing anytime soon :)

Make-up Products

I'm no expert when it comes to putting makeup on like all these amazing beauty gurus on Youtube, but I have tried recently to reach out for new products. I have noticed as well, all my favourite makeup products are in fact by Rimmel London. I literally love their products!!

Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation has been my go to foundation all of September. Usually, I go for the red-capped foundation by Rimmel, but that started feeling heavy on my skin, so I changed to Match Perfection and I'm glad I did! It's proven to be very light on my face and hasn't created any rough patches on my cheeks, like other foundations, have in the past, so this foundation is a massive difference. I use the 100 Ivory shade, as my tan has now vanished and I need a bit of colour in my face.

Another product by Rimmel I have been loving is the Wake me up Concealer. Due to my job, I rarely sleep for 8 hours anymore and always seem to have dark circles under my eyes and it's hideous. So using this concealer helps me feel confident that it's masking up the tiredness underneath my eyes which is such a great feeling. I use this in the shade 010 Ivory, similar to my foundation and it blends in super well!

I don't like to 'draw' on my eyebrows, like what even is that and why is it a popular thing?? Filling them is what I see most people do and I think that's more acceptable as I use the Rimmel London Professional Eyebrow Pencil 001 Black, as it isn't too dark on my brows but gives them the boost they need in order to finish my makeup look. I also love the little brush on the end that may or may not have been the reason I bought it... ha!!

Books & Music

Throughout August beginning of September, I went through a break up that kind of pushed me back into a never ending circle of hating who I was. After a while of feeling gloomy, I decided to start reading in order to focus my mind on something else.
I began to read a book my mum loaned me called A Place to Call Home by Carole Matthews. It helped with focusing my mind and quite frankly it helped me find some peace with the recent events and I couldn't be happier for it. :) The book itself is so beautiful and the story is something you imagine as a little girl... Maybe in the future when I've completely finished it, I will do a book review or something. Definitely, a good read especially to escape real life situations.

Since x-factor 2012 I've been a huge fan of James Arthur. He randomly disappeared from the limelight until recently and I jumped for joy when he made his big comeback! His new single Say You Won't Let Go literally gave me goosebumps when I first heard it.

It's taken me a while to publish this, because soon I'll be doing my October favourites ha! But here are the few things I've been loving! there was a lot more but I didn't want to make the post super-long as my first official post back.

Much Love,
Jaydee xo

Weekend away in London | 2016

The fact I'm 21 year old and have never left the UK or gone to London until a week or so ago, is quite an "oh my god" moment right?

Well... I HAVE NOW BEEN TO LONDON! (yay) & I am so inlove with it. I think the only thing I didn't enjoy about it though, was seeing all the homeless people. I just wanted to help them so much and give them a hug :( (if i ever got wealthy, my money would go on them!!) But other than that, i enjoyed the views of London & ticked so much off my 2016 bucket list!
This was also something that was on my New Years Resolution list - to travel more and visit places I've never been... Safe to say I'm sticking to it (for once) ;)

*sings* WE'RE GOING TO LONDONNNNN TO BUY A HEAT MAGAZINE! (I was in fact singing this all the way around London ;) haha!) - I'm not normal!

**This is a long post, as I turned into a tourist on my visit**

We stayed in the most AMAZING hotel in Euston on our visit, and I just had to capture it because just look, it's the most comfortable looking hotel I've ever visited for sure!!

Visiting Buckingham Palace was nice, as the Queen was home (me and her are like besties) and well, yano... It was all for the experience and it was SUPER BUSY! Take it everyone had the same idea as me that weekend ;)

To anyone who's been to London, this is trafalgar square right?? I was unsure as my two friends were my tour guide(s) and took me to the 'best' places :) The landmarks in this city are beyond beautiful!!

Big fan of mexican food!! Check out 'Tortilla' near Trafalgar square if you're a foodie like myself! :)

Sight-seeing & taking star wars photo's to tease my family as they love it.. me however... not a big fan ;)

Totally caught them both in the act ;)
Embankment (I think) was the next on our list of places to see, & safe to say this was my favourite place to visit as I fell completely IN LOVE!!!

We then finished our first day in SoHo, for a classy night out (which kinda ended weirdly) and then we moved on to the next day! :)

(These above we're also from our first day & night out in SoHo)

The day after the night before: Being extremely hungover and vulnerable (oops) we took a lovely trip to Harrods, went to GBK, Sea life and visited the Ice bar! Safe to say these were also my favourite things about London, especially the Ice Bar, I was totally mind blown!!

The night then came to a wonderful end, having dinner at Rain Forest cafe (definitely would recommend!) & drinking cocktails whilst exploring piccadilly (i think it was) before heading back to our hotel, for a good nights rest.

For my first time in London, it was by far one of the best experiences of my life & I can't wait until I go back again :)
The next day, on the way home.. I unfortunately got stuck on the Newcastle train at newark **laughs** due to some woman being what I call, 'thick', and headed back to my hometown... luckily I didn't end up in Newcastle, otherwise I would have been off on another adventure :P

I have more photo's to share, so there will be a shorter post & a video on my Youtube Channel going up in the next couple of days or so! Keep your eyes peeled for that! :)

Leave recommendations on where I should visit in London next, or any other cities that are good!

(DO NOT TAKE MY PHOTO'S WITHOUT ASKING, ALL WERE TAKEN BY ME & ARE ALL MY OWN!)
